I want to live before I die

I want to laugh before I cry

I want to smile before I frown

I want to swim before I drown

I want to wake before I sleep

I want to sow and then reap

I want the joy before the grief

I want to stay ever so lief

I want to love before I hate

I want to change the name of fate

I want the day before the night

I want the light, warm and bright

I have lived half and half more to go

I have learned and it's time to row

I have been planted and it's time to grow

I want to pace myself, steady and slow

If there is a lesson, I want to know

I want to soar through highs and lows

I want to gleam before I dry

I want to live before I die!
